Fr. Ian Hollick was raised Catholic by a Polish Canadian, Frank†, and an Hispanic Californian, Victoria, along with his two brothers and a sister. All are practicing the faith. He graduated from high school in 2004 from Corona Santiago then went to to the University of New Mexico on a baseball scholarship to play 3rd base for the Lobos. In 2009, he obtained his CPA license and worked in public accounting for 4 years.
While teaching high school confirmation classes, Fr Ian was led by the Spirit to consider the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Instead of becoming a Jesuit he entered the Diocesan Seminary for San Bernardino, our home diocese, and studied philosophy and theology for 8 years. He earned his Masters in Divinity while at St. John's in Camarillo and a Masters of Arts in Systematic Theology. He was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood on May 29, 2021.
Fr. Ian’s favorite saints are all of them and especially the ones he is reading about at the time including: Our Lady and St. Joseph; St John the Baptist and Paul, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross and Maximilian Kolbe; St. JPII and Mother Teresa; Sts. Therese and Faustina; Sts. Francis and Claire; Sts. Charles de Foucauld & Jose Sanchez del Rio; & Blesseds Chiara Badano, Stanley Rother, & Giorgio Frassati. His first assignment was for three years at St. Martha's in Murrieta July 2021-June 2024.
